10 - FAVOURITES

Every member can log into their account and set up their favourite authors and subjects. You will need to be logged into the catalogue using your userID and PIN to add, modify and view favourites.

to set up favourite authors & subjects

  1. Type your search terms in the Quick Search box
  2. Click on the drop-down menu and select either words or phrases, author, title, subject, series or periodical title.
  3. Click the Search button. An author search for Nick Earls brings the following brief results.
  4. Click on the Details button next to one of the titles

  5. Click on the link labelled Tell me when new materials by this author are available found in the box to the left of the title.

  6. A screen will appear advising that you will be notified when new material by this author arrives. Click OK.

  1. Once logged into the catalogue click on the My Profile link in the menu at the top

  2. Select from the drop-down menu how often you wish to be notified about new titles from Tell Me When authors and subjects.
  3. Tick in the checkbox if you want any authors and subjects of items checked out to be automatically added to your favourites.

modifying your favourite authors & subject

To modify and remove any favourite authors and subjects:

  1. Enter your userID (library card number) and PIN into the login form at the top of the website and click the Login button. Your user ID is on your library card and also on your checkout docket. PINs are automatically added to your card. Contact library staff to find out your PIN.
  2. Click on the more favorites link displayed underneath your favourite authors and subjects.
  3. Click on the Modify link in the navigation area at the top left of the catalogue. Your favourites authors and subjects will be displayed.
  4. Click in the box next to any author or subject you wish to remove and click the Remove Selected Authors button.
